Kathleen Weber’s experience extends our ESOP Plus® practice beyond ESOP matters.  Kathleen brings to the table several years of practice as a corporate, tax, and employee benefits attorney.   Kathleen’s practice includes ESOPs, other types of qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, 409A compliance, equity and synthetic equity plans, plan investigations, audits, and correction programs.  Kathleen has significant experience counseling business owners, their advisers, and fiduciaries in all matters related to ESOPs from the transaction planning phase through closing as well as ongoing ESOP compliance issues and terminations.   Kathleen also counsels clients on Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) compliance, tax-qualification, fiduciary and investment issues, and deferred compensation arrangements.  Kathleen also has extensive experience representing clients in connection with IRS audits and voluntary correction programs and DOL investigations into ESOP transactions.

In addition to her ESOP and employee benefits practice, Kathleen also counsels clients in connection with general corporate matters and multijurisdictional state and local tax matters.

Kathleen is a graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo and the University at Buffalo School of Law where she received the Louis A. Del Cotto Award for Excellence in Taxation and served as an Executive Publication Editor for the Buffalo Law Review.
